wow, I love it !
The line art and the style of the colouring go well together.
cyanotype + sepia goes well together also (meaning the character's and the background's colours).
definitely a !
Thanks! I'm still experimenting with that pallete, this being one of the first pics that I've noticed the middle tone redish colour BG and a simple hue shift to the blue side of the spectrum really play off one an other without scaling up the tone in the BG. Its like the complication of the type in the back ground becomes a tone in itself and frees up the viewer to concentrate on the foreground character..?
yes, I think I understand what you mean and I agree (hey I'm finnish and read slow so sorry if I misunderstood and I'm answering something really strange. )
I think the interaction between the colors is always in an important part when looking at artwork . That's why I usually don't like works with only one color's tones . This work wouldn't be half as interesting, if you decided to make that background bluish also. or the character redish.
(I just noticed that my screen is kind of bright and has a low contrast... so I changed the setups. Now this work is a bit different-looking but I think it looks much better now )

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
